IIE to Announce New Generation Study Abroad Campaign for Teachers

The Institute for International Education (IIE) is hosting an advance press call to share how K-12 teachers can get involved with its Generation Study Abroad initiative. Speakers will include representatives from IIE and two organizations that are collaborating on the Teacher Campaign: Asia Society and American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). IIE plans a formal press release to highlight the effort on February 5.

The Teacher Campaign grew out of IIE's Generation Study Abroad Teacher Think Tank in September of last year, which brought together key thought leaders in K-12 and higher education to brainstorm how to engage teachers so that their students might be more likely to study abroad as undergraduates.  Caitlin Haugen, GTE's Executive Director, participated in the Think Tank, one of several hosted by IIE.
